The name Pooh is speculated to have been the name of a swan the two had encountered on vacation. When the Walt Disney Company acquired the Winnie the Pooh rights in the 1930s, the sky was the limit for him and the other characters of the 100 Acre Wood. Pooh and friends have stared in a live action series, several recreated animated series, many straight to video featurettes and theatrical feature-length films The Tiger Movie, Piglets Big Move and Poohs Heffalump Movie, as well as video games, clothing, toys and other products.
